Healthy Heroes Weight Management Programme
A Weight Management Programme for Children in Primary Schools
Through Northampton Leisure Trust’s commitment to ‘inspire active lifestyles’ our Healthy Heroes programme aims to introduce key themes around healthy eating and physical activity in a fun and energetic way!
Healthy Heroes combines fun and interactive physical activities with a weekly healthy lifestyle message aim at children who are either struggling with their weight or who might be at risk of developing unhealthy habits.
We are delivering our programme in Schools delivered by appropriately trained professionals within our Health & Wellbeing Development Team. Our team have many years’ experience of delivering high quality healthy lifestyles programmes for children and young people across Northamptonshire.

Inspired Lunchtime Supervisor Programme
Training for Lunchtime Supervisors to help create more inspiring lunchtimes for children
The Health and Wellbeing Development Team are delivering Lunchtime Supervisor Training within Schools in Northamptonshire to help provide a more energetic, inspiring, and interesting lunchtime provision.
Primarily the training sets out to raise staff's confidence in actively engaging children in physical play. The core training objectives are as follows:
To explore the role of the lunchtime supervisor and how we can help them raise their profile
Aid lunchtime supervisors to promote positive behaviour through active play
Empower lunchtime supervisors to lead and initiate traditional and new playground games
The training has a large practical element providing staff with an opportunity to learn new and engaging playground games. It's also a great team building exercise.
Training includes:
2.5 hour training session provided by a professional with over 10 years experience in delivering playwork activities
4 follow up visits to ensure that the training is effectively implemented to the day to day delivery of lunchtimes
A full and comprehensive games pack

Satellite Clubs j
Lottery Funded clubs delivered by Northampton Leisure Trust for children in Secondary School
Satellite Clubs are outposts of existing community sports clubs, which are based on school or college sites or within communities. They have helped us to get more young people playing sport and to make the transition into community sport across the county.
Lottery Funded through Sport England, Sport England's Satellite Club programme has a particular focus on the following delivery areas:
Women and girls
Young people with limiting disabilities
Young people from selected communities.
LGBP
Anti Social Behaviour
Clubs are planned with young people at the heart of planning. We will take into account their barriers, motivations and attitudes to sport and physical activity.
